Perfume Diary : Summer Scent with Atelier

Hello all! I’m jumping back on the blog bandwagon and I want to talk about some of my favorite scents. I’ve built up a small collection in the past few years – I like to tailor my perfume to my mood.

This week has been very warm in my part of the world. It feels like summer is here already. This type of weather puts me in a citrus mood. Enter one of my newer discoveries, Atelier Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolute Pure Perfume ($70 for 1oz; $120 for 3.3oz).

Notes: Blood orange, bitter orange, jasmine, geranium, amber woods, tonka beans & sandalwood.

Impressions: If you hate most floral scents (I do!) don’t let the description freak you out. This is not a floral scent. Instead, you get a ripe, juicy orange. The other flavors serve as a balance, so that its sweet without being sickeningly so, and a little tart. On the edge of my perception is a slighy earthy spiciness as well, rounding everything out.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fresh spring/summer scent!
